Anybody retrofit a newer 3 series (e90)? I have a friend with an e90 with halogen headlights who wants to retrofit or purchase projector headlights.

A few questions; Are the housings interchangeable? If I find a scrapped car (rear-ended.) can I have only the inner components changed? Any difference from a 2006 and 2007? I see a few kits on the market, but it is often unclear whether the housing will be changed, or if even if it is an upgrade from current BMW Xenon. In the case of aftermarket, will the lights come up with an initial vertical motion, as on my E46?
