I have a very similar problem - the wheelie doesn't work in Lotus Notes' Inbox (works everywhere else though). The fix for other mice (eg MS) is to install (eg) Intellipoint and put a shortcut to (eg) point32.exe in teh startup group - that makes teh scroll wheelie work. But as you say - we dont know what brand mouse part number 0D1161 is.

So I rang Dell tech support & they looked up the SKU that shipped with my system - the tech didn't immediately recognise the SKU code (normally they have 'MS' for microsoft, or 'LGI' for logitech). This one had 'PMX'.

I have IP4.1 installed, and I have a link to point32.exe in startup, (it makes the mouse properties icon appear in the system tray - so I know the IP4.1 drivers have loaded). It all works fine. Wait, there's more! If I shutdown, unplug the PS/2 adapter and plug the MS mouse directly into the USB port, IP4.1 icon no longer appears in the systray & wheel scrolling stops working in Lotus Notes' Inbox. So I thought - 'PS/2 = the solution!' But that's not the answer unfortunately - I shutdown again, plugged the Dell no name mouse into my PS/2 adapter and plugged that into my machine (with IP4.1 installed), but now it didn't even have a cursor (ie the PC didn't recognise that a mouse was even attached).

Shutting down again and going back to my orginal setup (MS USB mouse + PS/2 adapter) restored me back to normal. But, at this stage, I'm going to advise the purchasing people to not get these standard meece with new PCs (we are better off spending a bit more to get a product that works as it should!) The thing that really confuses me, is I would have thought USB was better than PS/2 for the PC to recognise whats plugged into it. Anyways - no real solutions so far, just more info.
